Early Learning / Bridges Program

The Early Learning/Building Bridges for Brighter Futures program is available to expectant mothers and families with children from birth to age 5 who reside in School District 146. Funded by a grant from the Illinois State Board of Education, the Bridges program focuses on serving the whole family in partnership with the community. It addresses the individual needs of children and their families by providing a network of support and learning opportunities. 


The programs and services Early Learning/Bridges offers at no cost include: 

  • Preschool classrooms for ages 3 to 5 (Early Learning)
  • Individualized personal visits for families pre-natal through age 3
  • Focused parent/child activities for ages birth to 3 who receive home visits
  • Ready for Kindergarten classes
  • Developmental screenings
  • Parent Education
  • Family Fun Nights
  • Parent Library
  • Literacy Activities
  • Monthly Newsletter
