Curriculum

The Harcourt Reading /Language Arts Program is in use this year where students are exposed to a variety of literature.  In addition, the fourth grade teachers strongly encourage our students to participate in the Accelerated Reader Program.

Math units of study focus on multiplication, division, geometry, fractions, decimals, and problem solving. Our Science modules are Ideas and Inventions, Magnets and Electricity, the Human Body, and Water.

In Social Studies, we will explore the westward movement in the United States during the early 1800’s. We will study the Civil War, Chicago’s history, and the development and changes in our country during this century.
