JUMP
ROPE FOR HEART

Dear Parents,
Jump Rope for Heart is
sponsored by The American Alliance for Health, Physical
Education, Recreation and Dance to benefit the American
Heart Association. Moneys raised support local research
and educational programs to fight cardiovascular diseases,
the Chicago area’s number one killer. On February 14, 124
Fierke students got the jump on heart disease. Students
from 3rd, 4th, and 5th
grades jumped rope for fifty minutes, raising money to
fight heart disease and stroke in our area. Our students
raised $5524.50 to benefit the American Heart
Association.
As always, the success
of the Jump was possible because of the great support of
the Fierke community. Parents, students, and teachers all
contributed with their help and enthusiasm. Thanks to the
PTA for providing drinks for our thirsty jumpers. Thanks
to the faculty and staff for their help and support of the
event. A special thanks to all of the parents who came
the day of the Jump to help supervise teams.
Congratulations on a job well done to all of the Jumpers
and to all of their parents who helped by writing checks
for cash and checking packets before they were turned in.
A very special thank
you to Kelsey W., Chris Z., Louis S., Cassie & Rachel G.,
Donald B., and Nathaniel V. . All of these students raised
over $150.00 each and will be entered in a drawing for a
trip to Disney World. Donald was our top fundraiser and
will receive two complimentary tickets to a Chicago Wolves
hockey game.
SAFETY ALERT: Any
student who raised $30.00 or more will earn the Magic
Magnets prize. Please be aware that these come with a
safety warning that they should not be left unattended in
the presence of children under 3 and they should be kept
away from magnetic sensitive objects.
Prizes should arrive
during the middle of March. Thanks again to everyone who
helped in any way!

5th Grade
Volleyball and 4th Grade Floor Hockey Schedule
5th Grade Intramurals
Volleyball intramurals will
conclude on Tuesday, March 4 with all teams playing
except the Pink Peeps. Intramural Basketball will be
begin March 11 and continue through April. Permission
slips and schedules will be distributed soon.
4th Grade Intramurals
Floor hockey intramurals continue
on Thursdays. The session cancelled on January 31 has
been rescheduled for April 17 which will be the last
hockey session. There will be no intramurals on March
20.
