This
month I would like to highlight our Second Graders’ use of
technology. These students have been participating in a
variety of technology activities. They have been using the
laptops to access websites to practice math facts (Math
Magician), to read and listen to stories (Tumblebooks), and
have also been using Microsoft Word to type, edit, and revise
their own writing pieces. They have been busy taking
Accelerated Reader quizzes on the computers as well. The
students also enjoy using the E Beam during reading centers to
do interactive word activities such as writing spelling words
and finding synonyms. Their teachers have also helped bring
vocabulary lessons come to life for their students with Power
Point slideshows. Great work Second Grade!
Please remember that links for both Math Magician and
Tumble-books can be found on the Departments page of our
Fierke website.

Fun
Web Find of the Month:
You and your child can quickly see if a story that was read on
Tumblebooks has an Accelerated Reader test available to take
at school by using the AR Book Find website.

Please enjoy the time spent with family and friends during the
upcoming Winter Break. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
