We enroll students from kindergarten
through grade five who live in the southwest section
of Oak Forest and parts of northern Tinley Park. Our
curriculum is guided by the State of Illinois Goals
for Learning along with those adopted locally by
our Board of Education. A primary means of organizing
efforts for the accomplishment of school goals is through our School Improvement
Planning Team.
Our students maintain a fine tradition of academic
achievement fostered by teaching excellence and supportive
parents.
Our PTA provides a structure for
involvement
and many enrichment activities.
Our school opened in 1972 and is named after
Walter F. Fierke, former superintendent (1941-1972)
of Community Consolidated School District 146.
Our
mission is to provide our students with a safe, nurturing
environment and a purposeful, challenging
curriculum in order to foster an enthusiasm
for learning. |
