Fulton wins Road to Central basketball tournament

Fulton 5th graders won the intramural basketball competition called the “Road to Central Challenge” on Feb. 2. Fierke came in second during the round robin tournament, which was held on their home turf. Kruse and Memorial schools also competed.

Four teams representing each elementary school within District 146 face one another in a variety of sports throughout the year.

“It is aimed at preparing the students for Middle School athletic activities and competition,” said Fulton coach and District 146 Wellness Coordinator Matt Kociolek.

The next “Road to Central” event will be a bowling competition on March 2 at Orland Bowl.

1st and 2nd Grade performs "Giraffes Can't Dance"

Fulton’s 1st and 2nd graders presented "Giraffes Can't Dance" to a house filled with family and friends on Wednesday and Thursday evening, February 3 and 4.

“Music teachers Joe Glase and Evelyn Stenzel did a fantastic job preparing the students,” said assistant principal Megan Mitera. The students incorporated music and literacy while demonstrating their musical talents.

“Thank you to all of the grade level teachers and support staff who helped pull off the concerts!” Mitera added. We are grateful as well to the supportive parents and family who attended.
