Dear Parent or Guardian, As you know, District 146 has made a significant commitment to technology and its educational use. District 146 promotes the use and development of the Internet as an educational tool to help students in their learning. All use of technology must be in support of education and research activities and be consistent with the policies of School District 146. All activities which do not have an educational purpose are prohibited. Your son or daughter now has an opportunity to be trained on the use of the Internet within the educational setting. With these educational opportunities come responsibilities on the Internet. Therefore, it is important that you and your child take the time to read, discuss, and agree to the attached TECHNOLOGY USE GUIDELINES of District 146. We realize that some of the information contained in these guidelines is of a technical nature; but, please understand, this is for the protection of your child as he or she uses the Internet and other technological resources of the District. Please sign and return the bottom portion of this sheet to your child’s teacher indicating that you understand and have discussed with your child the responsible uses of the Internet.
