      Introduction
Everyone is familiar with baseball cards. There are
even cards for movies, music stars, etc. Wouldn't it be
cool if there were author cards? Well, your teacher
        thinks it would be cool!
Have you ever had trouble finding a book to read?
Well if you could peruse author cards to learn more
about an author or genre, then it would be easier to
        find a book to read.

      Task
You will be creating an author card for one specific
author. This card will include the following information
        about your author

  • biographical information such as date of birth, where the author was born and raised, etc.
  • a picture of the author
  • a list of books the author has written
  • a summary of one of the books the author has written and that YOU HAVE READ!

      Process
Begin by creating two note cards, one will include
information on the front of your card and the other will
include the information you want on the back of your
        card.
The front of you card will include the following:
the author's name, a picture of your author, and
        biographical information about your author.
The back of your card will include the following:
a summary of ONE of the books you have read by the
author, and a list of your sources or bibliography.
You can put the list of books the author has written
on the front or the back of the card it is up to you.

You can search for graphics to use on your brochure
but you must SITE YOUR SOURCE on the back of your
brochure. Save graphics by using the following steps:
            1. RIGHT click on the graphic
            2. Left click on "Save Image As"
            3. Go to your y-drive
            4. Name the image so you can find it, then save.

Create your document in WORD by using the following
        steps:
            1. Go to "File" and click "new"
            2. Go to "File and click "page setup"
In "page setup" do the following:
                    - click "Margins"and change the top, bottom,
left and right margins to .25
                    - click "Paper Size" and change orientation to
                    "landscape"
                    - click "OK"
                    - click "Ignore" if it appears
            3. Go to "Format" and click "Columns"
                    - click "two"
                    - click "OK"
            4. Once on your document hold down the keys
"Control" and "Shift" while still holding them
down press the "Enter" key ONLY 3 TIMES!
            5. Save your document to your Y-drive!
            6. **ALWAYS REMEMBER** Because of the way the
document prints out, the front of your card is the
first column on your first page, and the back of
your card is the second column on your second page!
